The no-faith motion moved by the opposition against speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena is likely to be taken up for debate on 19 March, said parliament sources.

Handing the motion over to deputy secretary general of parliament Chaminda Kularatne, the opposition asked that it be debated speedily.

Listed up on Friday, the motion can be included in the agenda within five days.

The opposition has asked for a two-day debate on the no-faith motion.
