In a scathing attack on Basil Rajapaksa, Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) leader Dilith Jayaweera has described the SLPP founder and national organizer as a symbol of misfortune in local politics.
It comes as Rajapaksa is expected to arrive in the island tomorrow (05).
Addressing a MJP event in Kegalle yesterday, Jayaweera said, “It is said that Basil Rajapaksa, a symbol of misfortune in politics, is coming back to Sri Lanka. As he arrives, a procession is to follow behind him.”
“He should not come on vacation and deceive innocent people. They did a grave sin to this country that can never be repaid,” said Jayaweera.
MJP chairman Prof. Sarath Amunugama and former eastern province governor Anuradha Yahampath too, attended the event.
