Two-faced divisions in local education should end to ensure that 4.1 million children receive equal opportunities in international schools and private universities, said opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.
A group of so-called modern revolutionaries is against reforms to shape education to suit present day needs, he charged.
Premadasa was speaking after handing over a smart classroom to Puggala Maha Vidyalaya at Kithalawa in Kuliyapitiya.
Speaking further, he said the government and its leaders were without a cohesive programme to make the country digital and green.
If they have any honest intentions, they should bring about educational reforms without delay, he stressed.
