The SJB’s no-faith motion against speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has the support of the NPP and the FPC.

Leader of the FPC Dullas Alahapperuma said they would definitely vote in support of the motion.

NPP MP Dr. Harini Amarasuriya too, declared their support.

The SLC has already said it would be backing the motion against Abeywardena.

The TNA will meet and take a decision, said its leader S. Sritharan.

The motion accuses the speaker of having violated the constitution by endorsing the online safety act without incorporating the amendments recommended by the Supreme Court.

It is expected to be handed over to the secretary general of parliament this week.
