World and regional powers as well as multinational companies treat Sri Lanka as a colony of theirs, says the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP).
That is clear from the way they manipulate Sri Lanka’s ports and other public property, said its education secretary Pubudu Jayagoda.
At a media briefing yesterday (25), he produced video and other visual evidence of how sand is brought to expand the eastern and Jaya container terminals at Colombo port.
Jayagoda said the Ports Authority and the government had to pay for the expansion work to the same Chinese company that was contracted to build the port city.
Noting that politics was involved in the creation of such an imperialist mindset, he urged the public to take steps to change the situation.
