Prof. Arjuna de Silva has lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) about a use of his name to promote a fake Ayurvedic drug for diabetes via online.
The promotion, using part of an interview given by him, implies western medicines are unsuitable for its treatment.
Speaking to ‘The Leader’, Prof. de Silva said he only recommends western medicines, after examining a patient.
He said he never promoted any Ayurvedic drug, leaving alone via online, which are against professional ethics and illegal.
He added the computer crimes division of the CID assured him of action under the online safety act.
