The opposition has replaced Patali Champika Ranawaka with Nalaka Godahewa as its member in the Committee on Public Finance (COPF).
Ranawaka was previously the chairman of the parliamentary committee on ways and means.
A statement issued by the speaker says the opposition has not submitted any nominee for this committee.
During the term of the previous COPF, its chairman Harsha de Silva even named Ranawaka to act on behalf of him in his absence.
Certain social media activists allege opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has named Godahewa in place of Ranawaka over his personal animosity towards the latter.
