Families have been asked to register their members presently overseas in the electoral register, although they cannot vote.
Elections chief Saman Sri Ratnayake said all registrations should end by 29 February.
Names of all family members aged over 18 years and have not changed their permanent residence should be included in the electoral register, he added.
