Self-proclaimed Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, Mahinda Kodithuwakku held in remand custody for allegedly insulting Buddhism and insulting religious
feelings was today granted bail by Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court.
The suspect was strongly advised not to violate bail conditions and was further ordered not to commit a similar offense while out on bail.
Magistrate Thilina Gamage ordered the suspect to be released on two sureties of one million rupees.
Meanwhile, the psychiatrist who examined the suspect's mental health condition, has recommended further treatment at the National Institute of Mental Health in Angoda.
Accordingly, the suspect was further ordered to attend mental health clinics at the National Institute of Mental Health in Angoda every Monday.
