Keheliya Rambukwella is due to resign from his environment portfolio today (05), said government sources.
This follows a notification given to him yesterday by a senior official of the Presidential Secretariat.
Rambukwella was arrested and order to be remanded in connection with the substandard human immunoglobulin vaccines scam that occurred when he was the health minister.
Following the court order for his remanding, he was taken to Welikada Prison, but was transferred to the Prison Hospital.
