Leader of the United Republic Party Patali Champika Ranawaka has called for a new independence struggle to reestablish sovereignty.
Noting that his party was formed with a mission to wage such a struggle, Ranawaka said various views are expressed to public issues, but there is no move to resolve any of them.
Addressing a public rally in Athurugiriya yesterday (03), he said the support of the suffering masses was needed for that purpose.
The URP stands ready to wage a new struggle for independence by resolving their problems through an end to fraud and corruption and by accurate management.
