Police and Special Task Force teams have unexpectedly been withdrawn from the parade at the state ceremony on 76th Independence Day.
Both teams withdrew from this morning’s (31) final rehearsals, reportedly after mounted police were replaced with horsemen from the Army.
However, public security minister Tiran Alles and acting IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon denied having taken such a decision.
