Mrs. DDG Anoja Seneviratne has been appointed as the new Director General of the Department of Census and Statistics.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colombo.
She has held various positions in the department since 1990 and has worked for 33 years in various sections of the department as well as in the statistical sections of various ministries.
Since 2017, she has held the positions of Director of Population Census and Community Science Division and Cartography Division.
Since 2019, she has been working in the position of Additional Director General 1 of the Census and Statistics Department and is in charge of conducting the current population and housing census as well as supervising the work of many technical sections of the department.
She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Statistics from the University of Colombo, a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Technology from the same University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Economic Development and a Post Graduate Diploma in Population Studies also from the University of Colombo.
