Former Army Commander General Daya Ratnayake has joined the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and has been appointed as
the party’s senior advisor on state affairs, the Opposition Leader’s office said.
General Ratnayake obtained his membership and the party position from Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa.
He headed the infantry force of the Sri Lankan Army during the war against the LTTE and was responsible for rehabilitating ex-LTTE combatants.
