The personal security officer of state minister Sanath Nishantha had been alive when admitted to hospital following their fatal road mishap on the Colombo-Katunayake expressway in the early hours of yesterday morning (25).
Police constable Anuruddha Jayakody died while being treated, but the state minister was pronounced dead on admission.
PC Jayakody was a father of one child.
The driver still remains in critical condition after the jeep they had been travelling in collided with a container truck and then crashed onto the protective barrier of the expressway at Kandana.
