The three main parliamentary committees will become null and void once parliament is prorogued next week.
Heads of COPF (Dr. Harsha de Silva), COPA (Lasantha Alagiyawanne) and COPE (Prof. Ranjith Bandara) will have to be replaced once these committees meet again next month.
Traditionally, COPF is chaired by an opposition MP.
Further, 16 out of the 85 various committees affiliated to parliament will be invalidated with parliament’s prorogation.
