Male toque monkeys are to be sterilized in Matale in an attempt to control crop damage by them.
MP Nalaka Bandara Kottegoda said this pilot project will be funded by the Agriculture Ministry.
With an increase in their population in the district, the matter of toque monkeys was taken up at the Matale coordinating committee meeting, he said.
