MP Vadivel Suresh is presently at talks with the Ceylon Workers' Congress (CWC) to form an alliance to contest future elections.
Elected from the SJB, Suresh joined the government recently and was appointed a senior presidential advisor.
Ceylon Workers' Congress leader Jeevan Thondaman too, is with the government, holding a ministerial portfolio.
Another key figure of the party, Senthil Thondman, is the governor of the eastern province.
Suresh is the secretary of the Lanka National Estate Workers Union, of which the president is minister Harin Fernando.
