The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will discuss and decide on its presidential candidate once a date for the election is announced, said its MP Namal Rajapaksa.
That candidate’s eligibility will not depend on whether he is a senior or a young one, he told the media at party headquarters at Battaramulla yesterday (04).
The candidate would be one who can strongly face the country’s present situation is and capable of giving leadership to a force that safeguards the country, party and the people, said Rajapaksa.
According to him, the budget for this year has allotted funds to hold one election only.
People are aware that founded under the leadership of Mahinda Rajapaksa, the SLPP has realized their aspirations and developed the country, he added.
