There is no truth to various media reports that the VAT amendment will result in a 42 percent increase in call and internet charges, said the President’s Media Division.
The actual increase is three pc, said the PMD, with a 15 pc VAT had already been in place.
For instance, a monthly bill for Rs. 1,000 will go up by Rs. 30 only with the VAT amendment, it said.
