A seafront hotel at Dehiwala owned by a drug racketeer now in hiding in Dubai and found to have been an unauthorized construction, was dismantled today (01).
A group from the wildlife conservation department used backhoes to pull it apart under police guard.
The hotel was identified during an inspection by a police team led by DIG (Colombo) Gayan Marapana at Dehiwala beachline on 20 December under ‘Yukthiya’ operation where measures are also undertaken to confiscate all property and wealth earned illegally through drug smuggling and underworld activities.
