Assets worth nearly Rs. 60 million have been confiscated from a suspected drug trafficker known as ‘Kudu Roshan’ following his arrest from a hotel in Warakapola, according to the police.
They include a house in Ja Ela valued at around Rs. 24 million and a car, said a top police official in Gampaha.
The suspect and several of his accomplices were netted on 26 as they were in hiding in Warakapola after fleeing first from Nuwara Eliya.
The others include 10 men, five women and eight children, police said, adding that seven criminals under investigation by Mutwal police were among them.
‘Kudu Roshan’ and 14 of the others are being detained at Warakapola police.
