A total of 1,467 suspects were arrested under the ‘Yukthiya’ operation during the 24 hours ended at 12.30 am on 29 December, said the police.
Of them, 56 are being detained, while 51 drug addicts will be sent for rehabilitation.
Among those arrested are 164 listed suspects who are wanted by the narcotics and special bureaus.
Drugs seized during the period are 460 g of heroin, 653 g of ice, 3.63 kg of cannabis and 103,793 cannabis plants, 342 g of mawa and 20,615 tablets.
The acting IGP has issued guidelines for the arrest of drug dealers now in hiding, said police media spokesman Nihal Talduwa.
Meanwhile, a total of 15,222 suspects have been arrested under the ‘Yukthiya’ operation since its launch on 17 December.
Of them, 755 are being detained, while assets investigations are to begin against 177 others.
Also, 1,134 drug addicts will be sent for rehabilitation.
