Nandasena Sooriyarachchi, writer and journalist with a career spanning over 50 years, passed away on the night of 27 December.
He was 78.
Sooriyarachchi wrote more than 55 books and served in several Sinhala language newspapers.
He joined ‘Udaya’ newspaper in 1969 and later was a founding member of ‘Divaina’ and even proposed the name for the newspaper.
The remains are being kept at No. 9, Kashyapa Road, Anderson Road, Kalubowila, with the funeral taking place tomorrow at 5.00 pm at Kohuwela cemetery.
