The country is yet to achieve economic stability, said Central Bank governor Nandalal Weerasinghe.
An economic growth of between four and five percent will indicate a normalcy of things, he said.
While continuing with the existing programme, an extensive medium-term initiative is needed, said Weerasinghe.
He said the economic crisis in 2022 was due to the country’s reserve becoming zero.
Reserves should be built to survive from any future economic crisis, added the CBSL governor.
