The Tamil National Alliance says that a discussion between President Ranil Wickramasinghe and the representatives of Tamil parties representing the Northern and Eastern provinces will be held next Thursday.

 

Govindan Karunakaran, MP for Batticaloa from that alliance, said that releasing the persons arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act will be discussed here, reported newswave.lk.

 

The MP also said that they are also expected to exchange views on the Himalaya Declaration presented by Buddhist monks and a group of representatives of the Global Tamil Forum who came to the island recently.

Meanwhile, the Central Committee of the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi has decided to elect the new leader of the party on January 21.
