The SLPP has decided to keep its national organizer position vacant for the time being, according to its MP Namal Rajapaksa.
Speaking to the media today (16), he said a suitable person would be appointed to the position as per the future political decisions of the party.
The executive committee met at party leader Mahinda Rajapaksa’s official residence and took expected decisions and appointed a politburo, he also said.
It reappointed Sagara Kariyawasam as the general secretary and named Pavitra Wanniarachchi as the treasurer.
Ven. Uthurawala Dhammaratana Thera will continue as the SLPP chairman.
Two deputy national organizer positions have been created, to which members of the Tamil and Muslim communities would be appointed, said Rajapaksa.
