The doctors of the National Eye Hospital in Colombo have called off the one-day token strike which was launched this morning (14).

The token strike has been called off after discussions with the Secretary to the Ministry of Health, the GMOA said.

Yesterday (13), the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) announced that doctors of the National Eye Hospital will launch a one-day token strike from 08.00 a.m. today protesting against the failure by authorities so far to take action regarding the misconduct of the Chief Administrator of National Eye Hospital in Colombo.

However, the Media Spokesman of the GMOA Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe stated this morning that professional action will be taken if no solution is received to this issue within today.
