SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa said he has requested the speaker and the chief government whip to change live telecasts of House proceedings to half-hour delayed telecasts.
Addressing a function in Hambantota yesterday (10), Rajapaksa said viewers lose faith in parliament when time is lost to irrelevant talk and mud-slinging there.
Hiding behind privileges, the judiciary and judges are being criticized too, he said.
"In parliament, we should talk about things useful for the country and the people," said the MP.
Especially, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa stands accused of wasting parliament time every morning, with leader of the House Susil Premajayanth being accused of aiding that.
