Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has called for an investigation into two persons in military uniform, who had frequented Mihintale Rajamaha Vihara for around three weeks.
Speaking in parliament yesterday (09), he said there was suspicion that they had come to harm the chief incumbent, Ven. Walawahengunuwewe Dhammaratana Thera.
With the Thera facing threats to his life, the two men were caught by the police and civil defence personnel.
It later came to be known that the duo had gone their on the orders of the commanding officer of an Army camp at Nochchiyagama, said Premadasa.
Responding, leader of the House Susil Premajayantha said the Defence Ministry would be informed of the matter.
