The Association of Health Professionals has expressed concern over the procurement of the cancer treatment vaccine Rituximab,

stating that the vaccine was brought to the Ministry of Health without proper registration from the National Medicines Regulatory Authority.

According to Ravi Kumudesh, the president of the association, the Ministry of Health purchased 2,200 injections of Rituximab from the same company involved in the fake immunoglobulin vaccine scandal.

Over 2,000 doses from this stock have already been used for patients.

The cost of one vaccine dose was reported to be 152 US dollars, and the Ministry of Health paid over 100 million rupees to the company for the entire stock.

The association president emphasizes the need for accountability, stating that every drug will be scrutinized if those responsible for the immunoglobulin scandal are not held accountable.
