SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa claimed that many of the budget proposals for 2024 were the same ones that were proposed a year ago.
He was speaking to the media after president Ranil Wickremesinghe presented his budget for next year.
If the same thing is repeated, there is an issue with practical implementation, said Rajapaksa.
The MP said the proposals would be studied and the SLPP’s views aired in parliament for consideration by the president.
“He is there as the finance minister of the SLPP government. So, the budget should represent our policies. If they are fairytales, they are impractical and pointless,” said Rajapaksa.
