President Ranil Wickremesinghe will present the 2024 Budget to the Parliament today (13).
The Second Reading of Appropriation Bill for the fiscal year 2024 will be delivered by President Wickremesinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, President Ranil Wickremesinghe finalized budget proposals for 2024 at a meeting at his official residence yesterday morning (12).
In attendance were state finance ministers Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and Shehan Semasinghe, senior presidential advisor on national security and chief of president’s staff Sagala Ratnayake, senior presidential advisor on economy Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga, presidential advisor Saman Athaudahetti, finance secretary Mahinda Siriwardena and Central Bank governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe.
The budget proposals will be tabled in parliament today.
Meanwhile, ‘Samabima’ leader Deepthi Kumara Gunaratne and political analyst Wipula Karunatilake discussed what social sphere the budget expenditures would be this time.
