A group of students at Eastern University has joined protests against the issue of pastures of the province’s
Tamil dairy farmers that remain unresolved for more than 1 ½ months.
They marched from Vandaramoolai to Sittandy in Batticaloa on 02 November and warned of bigger action if no solution is given by the government and the president.
Dairy farmers of Madavanai are on a 49-day protest to demand their pastures back.They claim that Sinhalese have taken over around 2,500 acres of their pastures for Chena cultivation.
