IGP C.D. Wickramaratne has written to the Police Commission asking that much-delayed transfers of seven senior DIGs be effected, ‘Deshaya’ newspaper reports.
Meanwhile, Wickramaratne has given a lecture to senior police officers on future plans of the department.
Joining them via zoom, he sternly advised them against prostituting police to drug traffickers, underworld gangsters or land traffickers.
Changes will be made to the department to help it curb crime and illegal acts, he added.
