The peaceful Muslim community never commemorates the terrorists who carried out the Easter Sunday terror attacks, said SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem.
However, Tamils in the north mark Mahavir Day, while some in the south remember November Heroes Day, he noted in a speech at a meeting for MPs called by the public security ministry.
The objective of the meeting was to brief them on the progress of investigations into the 2019 bombings.
Around 50 MPs as well as CID and TID officials were in attendance.
Hakeem went onto say that it was the Muslims who had taken the first step towards the capture of the extremists, and said he was happy that the meeting recognized that as a fact.
He stressed the importance of uncovering the hidden information with regard to the terror attacks.
