Shots were fired at the car of actor-parliamentarian Uddika Premaratne last night (17), police said.
The shooting carried out by a group in a van took place around 10.35 pm near Airport Road in Anuradhapura.
Premaratne, who was travelling alone, was unharmed as two shots hit the rear seat.
Elected on the SLPP ticket, the activist of the NFF led by Wimal Weerawansa presently functions as an independent MP.
Anuradhapura police are investigating the attack and have also deployed STF commandos at his home.
