Three more skeletal remains have so far been unearthed at a suspected mass grave in Mullaitivu.

JMO Kanagasabapathy Vasudeva told the media that the skeletons, so far totaling 13, appeared to be piled on each other.

Tests would determine their sex, he said.

For the second time, an ammunition was unearthed as well.

Resumed excavations continued for the fifth day at Kokkutuduvai gravesite on 11 September.

Excavations there began after water supply workers laying underground pipelines stumbled upon the human remains 200 metres away from Kokkutuduvai central college on 29 June.

Work resumed on 06 September following a court order.
