The Sri Lanka Netball Association (SLNA) has been told to lift a one-year ban it has imposed on three members of the junior national team.

Director general of sports Rear Admiral Shemal Fernando’s written order should be followed within seven days, or the SLNA will face stern action against it.

Also, a warning letter issued to vice-captain Nethmi Dilusha Wijenayake for not cooperating with an inquiry against the trio should be withdrawn and a Rs. 25,000 cost for her appeal to a ministry appeal committee reimbursed, the SLNA has been instructed.

Captain Uthpala Sachini Ratnayake, Dulmi Ashani Wijenayake and Vidusha Janani Perera were handed the ban for having consumed liquor at their hotel during the 12th junior Asian championship in South Korea in July.

Sri Lanka were placed third in the tournament.

When contacted, president of the SLNA Lakshmi Victoria said the instructions would followed without delay.
