Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa said yesterday (03) that he would definitely contest the next presidential polls.
Addressing the renovation of the Kirindi Oya movement’s south canal, Premadasa said he suspected a threat to his life, going by the falsehoods to the contrary being spread by some.
Of late, some in the government are following the Goebbels’ propaganda principles by claiming that he would not contest if incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe vies for another term, he said.
They are the same ones who plotted to defeat him by striking deals with Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the last election, claimed the opposition leader.
“To contest, I should be alive. I believe that their claim that I will not contest means a question mark before Sajith Premadasa’s life,” he added
