A medical expert has rejected claims that a majority of present fatalities from heart ailments is those who had been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama, a member of the Sri Lanka Medical Council, has told Neth News that possibility of complications is minimal from the vaccines.

Dr. Wijewickrama alleged that an organized group was leveling the false accusations.

Meanwhile, cardiologist Bhathiya Ranasinghe of Kalutara General Hospital said heart diseases are mainly attributable to smoking, bad eating habits, lack of exercises and stress.

Even schoolchildren are exposed to this threat, according to him.

Dr. Ranasinghe said a risk of heart disease at an early age could be avoided by paying attention to mental and physical health.
