Items of material evidence in court cases have been submerged at sea on a court order.
They include more than 1,000 swords seized from Colombo and suburbs following the Easter Sunday terror attacks, other sharp weapons, bomb parts and 18 guns.
All were kept at the Colombo chief magistrate’s court.
The cache was taken by the Navy ship ‘Suranimala’ 17 nautical miles off its Rangala camp and submerged 1,000 feet deep under supervision by court officials.
