A teenage girl of a family stricken by abject poverty has been found dead due to unknown reasons at her home at Suriyaara in Sevanagala.
The 16-year-old’s father and a brother had died previously and the mother is without a permanent income.
Police investigating her death have been told that the girl had been dejected by not being able to attend a party given by a private tutor.
After being found in critical condition, she was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
