The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has warned the Colombo National Hospital over its Rs. 339 million of electricity bills that remain unpaid for five months now.
It has issued a red notice, said a hospital official, affecting hospital functions.
He urged the Health Ministry to pay the bills without delay.
Hospitals and other health institutes across the country have defaulted electricity bill payments of nearly Rs. 3,000 million, said the CEB’s general manager Rohan Seneviratne.
He said however, supply has not been disconnected for any hospital.
