Trade unions in the health sector have decided to form a common alliance against the Health Ministry secretary’s circular that prohibits them from speaking to the media.
They were due to meet this morning (24) during a campaign by TUs that will be convened to Colombo.
Health ministry secretary Janaka Chandragupta on 20 July issued a circular that warned of disciplinary action against officials who give information to the media without prior approval from the respective head of institution.
