Just around Rs. 2 trillion worth of assets are held out of Rs. 8 trillion of project loans obtained by Sri Lanka so far, said auditor-general W.P.C. Wickramaratne.
Addressing MPs at a seminar, he quoted from the annual financial statement of the state and gave the figures.
The AG said, however, Rs. six trillion not being accounted for was not possible.
A process of accounting for these assets started in 2015, but the objective could not be achieved eight years later, he said.
