Rohan Fernando, chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), has claimed that he has been replaced by way of a ‘boardroom coup’.
It is in a bid to facilitate the immediate sale of the ‘profitable’ state owned enterprise, he told the media.
Fernando said that the SLT’s board of directors has removed him from his post.
SLT announced that Reyaz Mihular, a non-executive director, has been appointed as the non-executive chairman of the board with effect from 20 July.
