Plantation industries minister Ramesh Pathirana said a cabinet paper would be submitted for the payment of EPF and ETF dues of workers in state-owned plantation companies.
He gave the assurance to the Ceylon Workers' Congress (CWC) at a meeting recently.
The Estate Infrastructure Development Ministry, of which CWC secretary Jeevan Thondaman is the minister, said in a statement that most of these workers have not received their superannuation payments.
The meeting also reached agreement to acquire land for a housing project for the workers and for the replanting of tea.
