The heads of state-run Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd. (ANCL) and Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) have resigned from their positions.

ANCL chairman Anusha Pelpita, also the media ministry secretary, has tendered his resignation to subject minister Bandula Gunawardena.

Chairman of SLRC W.B. Ganegala is expected to tender his letter of resignation within today.

According to reports, Prasad Samarasinghe, executive director of Lanka Bell, is tipped to be appointed the SLRC chairman.

Prof. Harendra Kariyawasam is likely to be posted as the chairman of SLRC.

Both are close friends of minister Gunawardena.
