No one will be able to lay their hands on public funds, said presidential advisor Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.
Also deputy leader of the UNP, he told the media at Sirikotha that this has been made clear by the Central Bank governor.
Kariyawasam said there was unnecessary speculation with regard to an oncoming bank holiday.
He also urged that public welfare programmes such as ‘Aswesuma’ be not included in political agendas.
